Great British Sewing Bee’s Patrick Grant headlines at B-Corp Fest: Business as a Power for Good

Corporations that are passionate about sustainability are invited to attend B -Corp Fest 2025: Business As A Power For Good in Bolton. The event will feature some of the biggest names in the sustainability sector.

Patrick Grant, fashion designer and beloved judge of The Great British Sewing Bee, will headline the event at The Wellbeing Farm in Edgworth on Thursday, June 5, 2025. The event will showcase vital discussions on new standards and their role in guiding corporations toward a sustainable future.

Patrick Grant has a lot to say about clothes: how many we buy, how we value them, what they’re made from, and, importantly, who made them and where. At the event, he will share his thoughts around B Corp and business as a force for good.

Patrick founded Community Clothing, which supports textile manufacturers across the UK. He is an outspoken advocate for radical change in the fashion industry, and a regular on TV and Radio. He is best known for his role in the hit BBC series The Great British Sewing Bee. Harper Collins published his new book, LESS, in May 2024, an instant Sunday Times bestseller.

The event is being staged by the founder of the Wellbeing Farm, Celia Gaze. She organised it after her business became the first event and wedding venue to become B-Corp certified. Earlier this year, she began a conscious movement and created a new day on the UK events calendar called Conscious Day.

Now, after attending key climate change events such as Anthropy 2025 at The Eden Project and Changenow in Paris, Celia Gaze is putting the finishing touches to this unmissable sustainability event in the Northwest of England, featuring Patrick and some of the biggest names in the green economy.

Celia said: “B Lab UK’s new data on B Corp performance is a testament to the success of the movement in the UK, which is officially the largest in the world for the first time. With over 2,400 UK B Corps leading the way, it’s clear that prioritising people and the planet isn’t just ethical; it’s a good business choice.

“As the founder of the first wedding venues to achieve B-Corp certification and inspired by my transformative experience at ChangeNOW in Paris, I felt compelled to act. The event is driven by purpose, emotion, and inclusivity. B Corps are making strides, but working in isolation is no longer enough. We must scale our efforts and champion greater, collective actions.

“Now, I have decided to host B-Corp Fest, a groundbreaking event experience that will redefine events. This is not merely another sustainability conference but a catalyst for collective action. Experience something different; there are no stuffy boardrooms here. Instead, you’ll find an immersive, dynamic, festival-style business event -even a few llamas.”

“It’s time to shift from ‘What can my business do?’ to ‘What extraordinary things can we achieve together?”

“With this in mind, B Corp Fest is a dynamic hub for purpose-driven businesses and visionary leaders eager to learn, connect, and collaborate. This is your opportunity to engage with the idea of ‘business as a force for good’ and partake in powerful dialogues that drive real impact.”

Leading voices unite

Patrick joins some of the country’s leading purpose-driven businesses, sustainability advocates, and changemakers, who will unite on World Environment Day at B-Corp Fest.

With an ever-growing list of speakers, the current line-up includes:

Dr. Zoe Detko, an emissions reduction expert and founder of Ardea Eco-Innovation, will share her journey to Net Zero, focusing on supply chain integration and inspiring other businesses to combat climate change.

Molly Gould, the founder of Effable will lead an interactive climate card game People Versus Planet to provoke an intense debate.

Richard Dickson, co-founder of Play it Green, will speak about how the B-Corp promotes accessibility to sustainability and nature-based solutions for individuals and businesses to drive climate action.

Former television producer Ian Steel, Keeper of the Flame at Atkinsons Coffee, is committed to ethical sourcing and transparency and will show how his journey can inspire others to be more sustainable.

Angela Moran, Silentnight Group’s ESG director, will explore the balance of people, planet, and profit and Caitlin Gill-Graham from Charlotte Findlater Design will discuss the importance of regenerative design.

Local MP Andy MacNae, who represents Rossendale and Darwen, will also attend. The MP ran an adventure sports business before he was elected last year. He is a keen mountaineer and advocates tourism, sports, entertainment, and events.

Sophie Lee, the founder of Electric Peach, a purpose-led brand storyteller who helps businesses connect through movement-building, will also speak at the event.

And B Lab UK will also give an overview of B Corp and its support for Lancashire, as The Wellbeing Farm invites business owners, CSR leads, sustainability officers, HR executives, and CEO’s to gather to discuss important issues.

A Legacy that Matters

“At B-Corp Fest, you can forget the carpeted booths and flashy logos, and savour sustainable food, drinks, and coffee. Values are woven into every detail, providing a genuine experience without token gestures,” says Celia.

“We are dedicated to creating an event that leaves a profound legacy, not a footprint. B Corp Fest will take place on a regenerative farm, ensuring nature and sustainability are at the core, surrounded by lush fields and livestock.

This setting embodies the truth that genuine systems change calls for a community willing to dream big and act boldly.

Throughout the event, delegates can learn about the B Corp Journey and hear firsthand from companies that’ve gone through the B Corp process during a fireside chat.

Participants can attend workshops and panels throughout the day to gain insights and strategies from industry experts. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided, along with refreshments. The day will conclude with a cocktail hour and speed networking session to connect with like-minded individuals.

Then, there will be outdoor activities where participants can step outside, get inspired, and recharge in the fresh air amongst nature. They can even walk with alpacas and llamas.

Exclusive goody bags will also be available, and guests can raise money for the charity One Woman at a Time. by buying sustainable items made by African women who have evaded female mutilation.
