The traditional British afternoon tea has taken a decidedly Oriental twist as YO! Sushi introduces its own special menu in Selfridges Birmingham for the festive season.
Exclusive to Selfridges, the YO! Sushi afternoon tea for two people combines the elegance of the tradition with Japanese omakase dining.
Forget delicate finger sandwiches and scones with clotted cream and jam, this special version, created specially for Christmas, includes tempura nori nachos, which are crispy tempura nori shells filled with avocado, salmon or tuna.
Diners will also enjoy festive onigiri sushi balls, a selection aburi seared sushi, special Christmas sashimi and delicious desserts.
Enjoy with a 375ml bottle of French Palmer & Co brut reserve Champagne, a 300ml bottle of Kizakura Piano sparkling sake or a pot of jasmine needle tea.
Afternoon tea is just one of the delights on offer at YO! Sushi. It has launched its new menu with 83 dishes, 26 of which are vegetarian and 16 vegan. Delights include the ever-popular udon noodle dishes, teriyaki, salads, katsu, as well as the famed rolls and nigiri. It has also launched two exclusive dishes, aburi sushi and nori tacos, for Selfridges Birmingham diners.
The launch of afternoon tea and the new menu comes as YO! Sushi prepares to move to a new space in Selfridges’ renowned food hall this January. It is opening a state-of-the-art upgraded restaurant space on the left side of the Bullring department store with an even larger high-tech sushi conveyor belt.
Christmas afternoon tea at Selfridges Birmingham blends the traditional tea experience with the essence of Japanese Omakase dining with three tiers of sweet and savoury deliciousness. The exclusive experience costs £25 per person with jasmine needle tea, £30 per person for the tea with sparkling sake and £35 per person for the Champagne version.
