This week, 40 giant Rocket sculptures have landed in Leicester ready to be transformed for Rocket Round Leicester; the city’s biggest art event to date.
LOROS Hospice is working with leading art event producers Wild in Art to create Rocket Round Leicester, a free, family-friendly 10-week art trail. Arriving in their temporary home and designated painting space, the sculptures will be brought to life by selected artists from the local area and further afield over the coming weeks.
Upon completion, these spectacular Rocket sculptures will steer a voyage of discovery through the city’s streets and open spaces for local people to explore and enjoy from Monday 12th July 2021.
Leicestershire businesses have also joined the fun as Rocket Round Leicester Sponsors. Sponsorship packages offered the unique opportunity for organisations to select their favourite design and see the sculptures become unique pieces of art ahead of being showcased on the epic trail this summer.
At the end of the event, each star-studded sculpture will be auctioned to raise money for LOROS Hospice to allow them to continue to care for over 2,500 terminally ill people every year.
