Leicester experienced a dazzling premiere yesterday as ‘Emergence,’ a breathtaking audiovisual installation, made its debut at the bottom of New Walk in Leicester city centre.
The artwork, which features an ethereal soundtrack from NYX Electronic Drone Choir, is on show between 13 to 23 December, creating an immersive experience for all attendees that is free and accessible for all, with no booking required.
‘Emergence,’ is a creation by globally acclaimed artists This is Loop and is presented by BID Leicester, the city’s Business Improvement District. The installation, previously showcased at the Canary Wharf Winter Lights Festival earlier in 2023, invites viewers to explore the interplay of light and sound.
Measuring three by ten meters and adorned with over 10,000 LED lights intricately arranged within mirrored tunnel alcoves, ‘Emergence’ mirrors its surroundings during daylight hours, reflecting the cityscape and its visitors. As daylight fades the installation comes alive, unveiling a choreographed light show harmonized with an original soundscape by NYX Electronic Drone Choir.
The installation, free and accessible to all, adds a distinctive cultural dimension to Leicester’s festive season, joining the city’s array of Christmas events organised by the Leicester City Council.
