Berkeley Insurance Group have nominated The Y as their chosen Charity of The Year. This year The Y will be working closely with the city centre based insurance firm and look forward to exciting opportunities and events together across the year.
“Young homeless people face massive challenges everyday and hopefully our taking part in the zip wire challenge is a small contribution towards supporting them. The Y is an amazing organisation and we are really proud to be working with them.”
Tim Maxted, High Sheriff of Leicestershire.
This week, the team from Berkeley Insurance take on The Y’s Zip Wire Challenge at Victoria Park on Wednesday 21st June. At a height of 31m and 200m across, the brave team will reach speeds of up to 40mph and enjoy unprecedented views of Leicester’s City Sky Line. The Berkeley Insurance team are currently fundraising for The Y, with every penny contributing to the vital funds that help young people in Leicester and Leicestershire leave homelessness behind for good. Moving into safe accommodation and accessing the support and resources needed to transform their lives is a crucial step in the direction of positive change and successful independence for our young people.
“At The Y, our vision is for every young person to have a safe place to call home and the support they need to create lasting change in their lives.” explains Paul Brown, Chief Executive of The Y. “This is going to be a wonderful day and we would like to fill each and every one of the 150 spaces available so we can help as many young people as possible. Raising this money will make a huge difference to a young person’s life. Come along and join us!”
A few places are still available on the day for a minimum donation of £30. Further details can be found at: http://ow.ly/Cvcc30cvJ1g
