The award-winning King Richard III Visitor Centre is in Leicester city centre and was created around the car park where the King’s remains were buried for over 500 years.
The centre tells the incredible story of the King’s life and death and reveals one of the greatest archaeological detective stories ever told. Visitors can experience the sights and sounds of medieval battle; follow the Dig Diary and see a 3D replica of King Richard’s skeleton that clearly shows his curved spine, as well as his battle injuries. The King’s original grave site can also be seen as part of your visit.
From 24th March to 8th April you can explore your creative side with our
portraits activity – create your own portrait of King Richard III to take away
with you! There’s also dressing up and the opportunity to put yourself in the picture with our selfie frames.
PLUS, over the Easter weekend, not only can you discover the incredible story of King Richard III, but you can also help us create a huge portrait of him, using LEGO!
