Businesses Set To See Their Funny Side at Alternative Business Awards

The Leicester & Leicestershire Alternative Business Awards is set to return to Leicester Comedy Festival on Wednesday 7th February 2018.  The awards, last held in 2016, give serious local business people the chance to show their fun side, support local charities and reward individuals in a variety of comical, award categories.  The main award ceremony is sponsored by Flogas, and supported by ADT Taxi’s and Building Services Design.  Tickets are now on sale and are available from http://comedy-festival.co.uk/event/alternative-business-awards-sponsored-by-flogas/

The Alternative Business Awards recognises individuals and business teams in a variety of fun categories, all supported by local companies who sponsor individual awards.  The last ceremony in 2016 was a total sell out and organisers hope the 2018 will sell out again, and raise money for local charities Big Difference Company, Hope Against Cancer and Lord’s Taverners.

Local business people are supporting the team behind Leicester Comedy Festival in orgainsing the event. The committee putting the event together are Geoff Rowe, Eileen Richards, Ian Guyler and David Simms.  Director of Leicester Comedy Festival, Geoff Rowe, said “we’re really looking forward to hosting the Alternative Business Awards again as part of Leicester Comedy Festival.  The first event back in 2016 was a huge success, and we were delighted with the support we received from local business people.  I’m thrilled to be working again with Ian, Eileen and David and we’ve been overwhelmed with interest from local sponsors and supporters who want to support the event.  This time there will be a special award – the Guyler & Richards Choice Award – and we are seeking nominations from the business community so do get in touch!”

Peter Ablett, Commercial Director at Flogas Britain Ltd, said “we’re delighted to be supporting the Alternative Business Awards as the headline sponsor.  The event was a real success last time and gives the local business community a unique opportunity to let their hair down and celebrate our success in a quirky way.  The 2018 event takes place on the first night of Leicester Comedy Festival and we are delighted to be supporting the festival as well as the Awards event.”
