On Saturday 30 October, Leicester’s Curve theatre is celebrating Diwali with a host of free activities as part of its Community Day.
Taking place from 10am – 3pm, Curve’s Diwali Community Day – in association with An Indian Summer – will feature an array of activities and performances for all ages, including Mehndi art, classical Indian music and dance, shadow puppetry, storytelling workshops, comedy, poetry and more.
All activities as part of Curve’s Diwali Community Day are free to join.

Take a seat for an hour of Indian classical ragas as Neil (Sitar) and Jay (Tabla) fill Curve with the sound of these incredible instruments.
Mr Cleaver’s Monsters
10am – 3pm | Mezzanine
Make your own Ramayana shadow puppet in this hands-on workshop with Mr Cleaver! Choose from Ram, Sita, Hanuman or Monkey Soldier, assemble your creation and then test your make with a puppet selfie.
Banyan Tree: South Asian Dance 2000 – 2020

We’re delighted to be welcoming Kadam Dance and Pulse magazine’s latest exhibition, which celebrates the dance artists who have contributed their unique vision to dance in the UK, principally through the lens of leading photographer Simon Richardson. The images tell the story of contemporary makers and performers and those from whom they have inherited the forms.
Nupur Arts: Bollywood and Classical Workshop

Join Curve Associate company Nupur Arts in this upbeat and intricate dance workshop on Bollywood and semi-classical Indian dance with their specialist tutors, suited for all ages and abilities.
