Leicester Restaurant Week kicks off next week (17-23 October) and we enjoyed a sneak peek of one of the independent businesses getting involved!
We checked out one of Leicester’s best Indian restaurants. Confirmed curry lovers and the spice averse should rejoice, as the stunning Tandem Indian Restaurant in Leicester’s Highcross has announced its two and three-course set menu as part of the Restaurant Week promotion, which kicks off between 17-23 October.
Exclusive to the city, Tandem combines Indian creativity with primarily British produce. The menu is inspired by Indian history and culture, using traditional cooking techniques. As a result, they produce unique and delicious dishes.
At just £15 for one course; £17 for two; or £20 for three, this is little more than the cost of a good takeaway and can be enjoyed in this beautiful, period restaurant, which boasts 4.5 stars out of 5 on TripAdvisor.
We particularly recommend the Aloo Papdi Chaat and Masali Fry (fish) from the starter selection, and the Chicken Jalfrezi was also of particular note from the mains. It was rich, tender and just the tonic for a drizzly autumn evening. Diners should note that a choice of rice or naan is served with each main – we say, choose one rice and one naan and share as they don’t skimp on the portion size. We also loved that they could dial up – or down – the spice levels of the curries—a sure sign of a knowledgeable and talented kitchen team.
