Until Friday 26th August, Everards are celebrating Tiger’s 50th year of production!
The iconic ale from Everards is 50 and to celebrate they are taking Tiger on Tour. To find out where they’ll be heading, look on Everards’ Facebook and Instagram daily for a clue. You only have until 26 August to get involved! If you find them you are in for some prizes, fun and of course free beer, with the first 10 people given a free pint of Tiger!
The ale is a local favourite and has a special synonymous in Leicester. The Leicestershire Regiment was nicknamed ‘The Tigers’ in 1825 following their long service in India. Launched in 1972, the first barrels of Everards Tiger ale were delivered to pubs, and a new age in beer drinking was born. Branding depicted a bright modern image which symbolised the progressive and confident mood of Everards at the start of a new decade. In 2016 they received special permission from the Colonels of the Leicestershire Regiment to use their laurels on today’s Tiger logo. It was Brewed exclusively for Everard’s own pub estate of over 150 pubs and their prestigious partners including the local rugby club, the Leicester Tigers.
“I’ve been immensely proud to bring Tiger back to Leicestershire and continue in Everards investment of brewing quality beers,” says Head Brewer Jon, “Tiger has been a firm favourite for our drinkers throughout its lifetime!”
