FIRST LOOK: INSIDE THIS FIVE-BED SHOWHOME IN DESFORD, LEICESTERSHIRE

National home builder, Miller Homes, is inviting readers to take a look inside its latest five-bedroom Bridgeford showhome, located at its new Dukes Field development in Leicestershire.

Situated off Barns Way in Desford, the new neighbourhood will feature a selection of two to five-bedroom properties.

The luxury new showhome has been brought to life by Suzanne Thomas, Creative Sales Director at Blocc Interiors. Here, Suzanne takes readers on a virtual tour of the new property, discussing her inspiration behind the styles and sharing tips for recreating these looks in your own homes.

Kitchen / Family:Breakfast Room

A modern shaker style kitchen in fresh white with grey countertops creates a clean, stylish canvas to let the mustard yellow bar stools really shine in this room. Faux plants add a touch of greenery and a burst of freshness without any of the hassle of keeping a real plant alive.

At-home bars are on trend at the moment with people finding new ways to rejuvenate their living space. With ample room in the Bridgeford, a velvet lined bar and two stools with gold accents create the perfect area for the adults to create signature cocktails at home.

A large geometric patterned rug establishes another zone of the kitchen family area. Combined with the metallic coffee table, plush velvet sofa and scatter cushions in rich blues and yellows, a warm and cosy spot is created.

Dining Room

The dining room is the perfect place to create a bold and dramatic setting to invite friends and family back into our homes. We’ve used accent tones of teal and gold to create a warm and inviting room with a touch of glamour.

Layering is a really easy way of stepping up your table-scape, adding interesting detail and creating a sense of decadence. The large central light fixture and candlesticks help to draw the eye upwards, creating an impressive centerpiece for this room.

Lounge

The very heart of a family home, the spacious lounge encompasses plenty of seating, with two sofas and an inviting armchair. A contemporary media unit with white and grey geometric pattern is framed by bespoke artwork, combining all the rich jewel colours of the soft furnishings. Circular stacking coffee tables provide a focal point in the centre of the room, and creates a perfect place to display your favourite home decor finds.

Study

We’ve created a cosy, yet sophisticated office space that harnesses plenty of natural light coupled with rich colours such as navy blues, oranges, purples and mustard yellow. The leather chair and half height navy blue band on the walls offers a playful edge, while the pendant lights brighten the darker corner of the room and highlight the bronze accents of the side tables.

Bedroom one

Straight lines, symmetry and champagne tones with pops of jewel colours create this warm and elegant principal bedroom. The mirrors set into the wall paneling cleverly reflect the hanging pendant lights either side of the bed, creating a more dramatic effect and making this room feel light and airy.

Bedroom two

Calm and tranquil, the soft textures in the headboard and bedding are mirrored in the rounded, swirling lines of the wallpaper and artwork hanging above the bed. Floor to ceiling curtains and warm throws add to the relaxed feel of this room.

Crisp, clean white bedding always makes a guest bedroom feel inviting and luxurious. The use of white also enhances the natural light by reflecting it back into the room.

Bedroom three

A room that embraces individuality. The statement wallpaper compliments the teal aqua ceiling, catching the eye without being overpowering.

With multiple lighting options, such as this statement leafy overhead light, snug bedside reading lamps, or a glamorous ring light, you’ll always be able to take the perfect selfie.

Bedroom four

Our Harry Potter themed room, complete with a hand-painted Hogwarts Express mural, is a fun nod to the Great Central Railway located nearby in Loughborough.

The brick style wallpaper, and little touches like the storage trunks are playful additions to transport any fanatic into the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry.

Bedroom five

These warm grey and subtle blush tones combine to create a calming and nurturing nursery, perfect for any little new addition to the family. An African safari themed room is pulled together by cuddly toys, the plush elephant wall mounts and wallpaper with beautiful hand drawn images of giraffes, rhinos and zebras.
