To celebrate the 565th birthday of King Richard III, the Visitor Centre is holding its annual family activity day.
Taking place on Sunday 1st October between 10am – 4pm, the activity day is included in the normal admission price.
Families will be able to have a go at extracting DNA from a banana, or play DNA dominoes – see if you can match the code! Our medieval knight will also be on parade, and younger visitors can make their own crown.
The Visitor Centre is also delighted to welcome author and MP Chris Skidmore, as he talks about his new book “Richard III: Brother, Protector, King” between 10:15am and 11:30am. Chris will be signing copies of his book afterwards.
As well as these great activities, visitors can also discover the incredible story of King Richard III’s life and death, and one of the greatest archaeological detective stories ever told.
Iain Gordon, Visitor Centre Director said: “Our Family Activity Day is a great way for us to mark King Richard III’s birthday – it is a great opportunity for families to find out more about the amazing story of King Richard III’s discovery and have a bit of fun at the same time.”
Activities are aimed at children aged over 7 years. To book your tickets in advance and for more information about the day, visit www.kriii.com. Tickets can also be purchased on the day.
