Highcross set to host Christmas carnival and parade

It’s set to be a white Christmas in Leicester this year, as the shopping centre hosts a festive celebration like no other with the arrival of its enchanting White Christmas festival on Thursday 22nd November.

The walk about activity will take place around St Peter’s Square and the malls. Complete with dancing snowflakes, Russian princesses, giant swans and even a winter dragon – there will be something for everyone to enjoy as this magical event takes place at Highcross, including real life snow fall…

Highcross has already opened the doors to its German Jagerhaus, where guests can enjoy festive treats from bratwurst to mulled wine. Be sure to download the PLUS app to get a free hot chocolate from the Jagerhaus, while stocks last.

But that’s not all – the streets of Leicester will also be visited by some of Santa’s Little Helpers themselves. The North Pole Postal Service will be making its way across the tundra, featuring Crumpet the elf and Blitsen, a fully animatronic reindeer who will be on hand to greet little shoppers as they get in to the festive spirit.

The three-hour White Christmas spectacular kicks off the festive period at Highcross, which will also see the opening of a festive grotto the following day (23rd November), featuring Santa Claus himself.  Shoppers can also enjoy longer opening hours over the Christmas period alongside a host of pop-up shops in centre for an array of gifting choices.

Jo Tallack, General Manager at Highcross, said, “We are thrilled to be hosting the White Christmas festival at Highcross – the perfect way to welcome in the festive season, and is sure to be a fun and exciting event for all the family”.
