Staff at Welford Road handed over the reins to young Tigers fans as youngsters took over matchday roles around the ground for this season’s annual Junior Tigers Club Takeover Day.
More than twenty Junior Tigers Club members went behind-the-scenes for Leicester Tigers sell-out Aviva Premiership fixture against local rivals Northampton Saints.
The club welcomed the youngsters from across the East Midlands to take on matchday roles as a photographer, reporter, social media assistant, stadium announcer, kitman, DJ, interviewer and designer.
The Junior Tigers Club is a free membership for under-16’s to enjoy exclusive access, competitions offers and matchday activities as well as the chance to meet Tigers players.
Supported by club partners The Nottingham Building Society and Next, mini mascots also joined in the fun with the opportunity to walk out in front of 25,849.
Dom McGeever, marketing and promotions executive at Leicester Tigers who runs the Junior Tigers Club, said: “Each season, we give lucky youngsters the chance to go behind-the-scenes and get as much out of the Takeover Day as possible – making it an experience they will never forget.
“A huge well done to all our winners and a big thank you to their parents who helped in supporting the day. The Junior Tigers Club has over 40,000 members signed up and offers access to the Junior Tigers Club VIP area on matchday with plenty of activities for all – who knows, it may even be you joining us for next year’s Takeover Day”.
