Leicester Business Festival events now available

Tickets to Leicester Business Festival events taking place between 23rd October and 3rd November, are now available to book through the Business Festival website www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com.

Around 150 events will form a packed programme in the third annual Business Festival to take place in Leicestershire.

The Leicester Business Festival, partnered by Leicester Castle Business School is the region’s largest business event. It will comprise many different seminars, conferences meetings and webinars that will appeal to businesses of all shapes and sizes from sole traders and micro-businesses right up to employees in large corporate organisations.

Over 95% of the events are completely free to attend, although tickets must be booked in advance and are available on a first come first served basis.

There are hundreds of different events in the programme spanning the key sectors from communications, marketing and business support, professional and financial services, retail and food and drink to tourism and hospitality, logistics, creative industries and much more.

Business and professional services events include ‘Legal Basics for SMEs’ by Lawson West Solicitors; ‘How to protect and Grow Your Wealth’, looking at navigating the growing body of tax legislation being run jointly by Mellon Rose and Nelson’s Solicitors and a workshop on the basics of commercial mediation by Bray & Bray Solicitors.

Useful property sector events include an overview and trends of the current East Midlands Commercial Property Market jointly run by Tech4i2, East Midlands Chamber and De Montfort University. Sky Blue Homes is also running a seminar about the future of lettings, aimed at owners or residential properties.

New to the Business Festival this year is a conference celebrating women in business run by the ‘Woman Who’ network in conjunction with the Federation of Small Businesses. The conference will aim to inspire women to have the confidence to start or grow their businesses.

Organisations looking to recruit local talent might be interested in events by De Montfort University, South Leicestershire and Gateway Colleges all looking at how businesses can maximise apprenticeships and the associated Government apprenticeship funding; or Beauchamp College and the Lionheart Academies Trust intriguingly entitled event, ‘The Business of Multi-Academy Trusts – A Multi-Million Pound Opportunity for Your Business. De Montfort University’s Graduate Recruitment and Placements Fair on 24th and 25th October will also provide organisations with the chance to meet recruitment ready graduates and placement students.

The final programme will be released on 3rd October in the Leicester Mercury.

The Business Festival is also supported by well-known business organisations including East Midlands Chamber, LLEP Business Gateway, the Federation of Small Businesses, Highcross Leicester, Brewin Dolphin, Leicester Racecourse and IBM. Other supporters include East Midlands Trains, IOD, De Montfort University, Leicester University and media partners, Capital FM, Global Radio and the Leicester Mercury.
