Leicestershire Restaurant claims coveted spot in the Michelin Guide

After 8 years dedicated to providing the very pinnacle of authentic Italian cuisine and service, Sapori Restaurant and Bar in Anstey have been awarded a sought after Plate award in the Michelin Guide 2020.

The family run Leicestershire restaurant is no stranger to top accolades, having been awarded an AA Rosette in 2018. They have featured in the Good Food Guide every year since 2014.

Chef Patron Andrea Scarpati’s food is celebrated for making use of the best local ingredients whilst staying true to traditional Italian methods and techniques.

Dishes are exquisitely presented. The service, headed up by Scarpati’s brother in law Luigi Riccardi, is ‘charming’ according to the Inspectors. Sapori is only the sixth Leicestershire restaurant to feature in the Michelin Guide.

“We strive to be the best we can be every single day” said Chef Andrea. “After 8 years of continually pushing ourselves this is another fantastic milestone in Sapori’s journey. We make everything in-house, from the bread basket to the gelato. It is wonderful to know that both the Michelin Inspectors and our customers appreciate our authentic Italian food and our warm, welcoming service.”

It is a double celebration for Chef Andrea. He has recently been invited to join the illustrious Ambasciatori del Gusto. As one of the not-for-profit association’s Ambassadors, he has been recognised for his excellence in Italian cuisine and is charged with sharing the passion and heritage of Italian food around the world.

Sapori Restaurant and Bar are now taking bookings for their exclusive Christmas menus. They are offering a Christmas Lunch and Early Evening menu, festive evening set menu and their much-loved Christmas Day menu.
