Leicester Tigers have plenty in store for rugby fans with a host of matchday activities lined up at Welford Road for the remaining home matches of the 2017/18 season.
Armed Forces day, Easter-fun and a special 125th anniversary celebration are planned for fans when Tigers take on Harlequins, Wasps, Northampton Saints and Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership.
Harlequins come to town on February 17 (3.00pm) as Tigers hosts its annual Uniform and Armed Forces Day with discounts for members and veterans of the armed forces and emergency services. The plaza on the Holland & Barrett stand will also have activities for families to get involved with as well as a special Valentine’s Day surprise.
Rivals Wasps visit Welford Road on March 25 (3.00pm) with Easter treats for Junior Tigers members and activities and a live entertainment for all the family around the stadium. Local rugby clubs will also be taking part in the U10s Prima Cup finals after the Tigers fixture.
It’s the return of the ‘East Midlands Derby’ on April 14 (3.00pm) as Tigers face Northampton Saints. Staff will be handing over to the kids as Tigers hosts their annual Junior Tigers Takeover Day, which see’s young Tigers fans take on roles around the stadium such as our matchday announcer, kit assistant, mascot, photographer and reporter plus many more.
The club will mark the fixture on April 28 (3.00pm) against Newcastle Falcons celebrating 125 years of rugby at Welford Road. Fans will be encouraged to wear their old Tigers jerseys with plans to commemorate the clubs heritage items, souvenirs and projects.
Chris Rose, head of brand at Leicester Tigers, said: “Over the festive period alone, we had nearly 50,000 fans join us on matchdays to enjoy the rugby alongside Christmas markets, Santa’s grotto and live entertainment.
“The support this season at Welford Road has been huge and, with just four Aviva Premiership matches remaining at Welford Road, we want to give the fans even more to shout about.
“We’re expecting to welcome over 300,000 fans through the gates come the end of the season and so by putting on activities, games and hosting special days for the community alongside the rugby, we hope to continue to make Welford Road a great place to visit.”
