Following the success of branches in Nottingham and Birmingham, Tamatanga has now opened in Leicester! The Indian eatery is loved for its hearty, home-style Indian food and good atmosphere welcoming students and families alike.
Located on Shires Lane at Highcross the restaurant provides wonderful home cooked street style dishes, as well as cocktails, craft beers and lassis, which all come at an exceptional value. The colourful and eye catching design of the restaurant is inspired by the chains Birmingham eatery and evokes a light hearted and playful feel of the streets of India.

Bursting with flavour but light and easy to eat, the menu is varied and unique. From hearty biryanis and classic curries to more unusual offerings, tamatanga is renowned for its legendary thalis, healthy clay oven plates, warming wraps and seriously good salads.
Everyone is provided for at tamatanga with a fantastic kid’s menu that has something for even the fussiest of eaters as well as balloons, crayons and colouring keeping the tama tots entertained whilst you enjoy your meal.
Including daily two for one cocktails, at tamatanga the drinks are never overlooked. The bar features its own seating area where customers can enjoy a vast array of craft gins, craft beers and creative cocktails with exotic garnishes alongside coolers, wines, lassis and soft drinks.
Operations Director, Rahul Khurana, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening our third tamatanga in Leicester. We’re not your average Indian restaurant and like to do things differently. With Leicester already offering such a high level of Indian food it’s important to us that we offer something a little out of the ordinary and it’s great to finally be able to show Leicester what we’re about.”
