JOIN THE BIG SLEEP AND RAISE MONEY FOR CITY’S HOMELESS COMMUNITY

The Bridge Homelessness to Hope charity has announced its annual ‘The Big Sleep’ event where people are invited to sleep outside for one night to raise money for, and awareness of the challenges experienced by the city’s homeless community.

The Big Sleep 2024 will start at 8pm on Tuesday 19 March 2024 and finish at 8am the following day at sites at the University of Leicester and De Montfort University.

This year, for the first time, the charity is also offering the chance for people to take part in The Big Sleep by sleeping outside in their own back gardens between 18-28 March.

People have to be over 18 years old to take part in The Big Sleep and can either take part as an individual or by building up a team of supporters by getting friends, family and colleagues involved. If people don’t want to get involved in the physical act of sleeping outside, they can sponsor others for completing a night under the stars.

All of the money raised will support a range of services that The Bridge Homelessness to Hope delivers to homeless people in Leicester including breakfast and lunch services, access to hot showers, clothing and toiletries, washing and drying facilities,

as well as the support of case workers and mentors.
