The countdown is on to the Leicester Beer Festival 2020

The much anticipated event, held at Leicester’s Haymarket Theatre, is a highlight in the city’s calendar. Over 200 real ales and 40 real ciders and perries will be showcased at the 4 day event, beginning on 26th February. Local breweries and producers will be showcased, alongside the best of the rest from around the UK. It’s a fantastic opportunity to try rare and hard-to-find beers, including a number of festival exclusives.

Run entirely by volunteers of Leicester’s branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, the festival is expected to welcome thousands of thirsty punters. This year’s theme is 20/20 Vision, which will be reflected on the commemorative glassware. All proceeds from the festival will support two important local charities – LOROS and Vista. Vista will be offering free 10 minute eye health checks at the festival.

There is plenty to enjoy besides real ale, cider and perry. Gin lovers will be pleased to see the return of the Travelling Juniperberries and their mobile gin & Prosecco bar. They will have more than 50 different gins to choose from, many from small independent producers. If you’re getting hungry, the Indian street food stall will have a range of tempting delights, and 2020 will see the return of Noni’s Family Kitchen scotch eggs, which were a sell out success at last year’s festival. Of course, there will be plenty of entertainment too, including visits from both the Leicester and Anstey Morrismen.
