The search is on in Leicester for New Voices on BBC radio

BBC Local Radio is on the hunt for ordinary people with a love for their local area to take to the mic. Anyone over the age of 18 can audition and no previous experience is required.

BBC Radio Leicester will be holding auditions at BBC Leicester, 9 St Nicholas Place, Leicester LE1 5LB on Saturday 28 September. Registration 10.00am-4.30pm

Hopefuls will have 60 seconds to impress a panel of judges. They could tell a story about something they care about, something local, something personal… anything as long as it’s unique.

In Leicester, the judges will be presenter Aminata Kamara (winner, The Next Big Voice talent search), Namrata Varia (Producer, The Mid-Morning Show) and Pete Wardman (Programmes Editor).

The auditions will be first-come-first-served, so everyone is asked to make sure they check the times of the auditions and arrive promptly for the best chance to be seen. For the Leicester auditions, all people will have to do is turn up at the venue, and register before 4.30pm, prepared to impress.
