Curve is looking for committed local performers of all ages to take part in its most ambitious Community musical yet.
The theatre is calling on adults and young people aged 12+ to take part in a production of Joseph Stein’s classic musical Fiddler on the Roof. Created by a professional production team and staged in Curve’s 900-seat theatre 10 – 19 Aug, Fiddler on the Roof is one of the greatest Broadway musicals of all time and tells the story of a poor man trying to maintain his cultural traditions in the face of oppression. The production will be directed by Sarah Ingram with original choreography reproduced by Curve’s Head of Learning Melanie Knott.
Speaking about the production, Curve’s Chief Executive Chris Stafford and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster said:
“We are thrilled to welcome people of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds to take part in what will be a stunning production of Fiddler on the Roof here at Curve this Summer.
“It’s Curve’s 10th birthday year and we will welcome all those interested in taking part, regardless of previous experience. If you’re interested, please come along and meet the team. As long as you can attend the rehearsals and are fully committed to the challenges, exhilarating long hours and incredible experience that putting on a show entails, you are welcome to be part of the show. Your theatre needs you! Come along and get stuck in and help us make our 10th birthday a special one.”
All applications must be submitted to Curve by midnight on Saturday 3 March. There will be an informal information session on 4 March and auditions for principal roles are scheduled to take place the following week.
