February half term is fast approaching and we sense you need a little help looking for activities to keep your little ones occupied. We have found a range of fun events from holiday camps to farmyard playgrounds that are sure to keep your children and even you entertained! So crack open your diaries and get ready to jot down these fun-filled activities to give your children a half term to remember.
Magical Holiday Camp @ Leicester High School or Fairfield Prep School, Loughborough (Monday 13th February to Friday 17th February)
If you want to give your child/children a head start for the next academic term then the Magical Holiday Camp at both Leicester High School and Fairfield Prep School in Loughborough is sure to keep your child/children occupied throughout February half term. The holiday camp covers subject areas: English, Science, Art & Design, Crafts and Drama. Children are given the opportunity to take part in fun games and have the chance to make new friends. Gastro Space @ National Space Centre (Saturday 11th February to Saturday 18th February)
You and your children are given the opportunity to discover the world of space gastronomy. You and your children will learn what we eat and how the human body deals with eating, digesting and expelling waste in space! The centres mission commanders have come together this half term period to talk all things bogies, burps, trumps and bums. Your children are sure to be giggling over the weird but wonderful science of all the gross stuff our bodies do in space. The centre strongly recommends you book tickets in advance as the half term period is a busy one. Booking in advance will guarantee you entry to the centre to beat the queues. Zoo Club @ Twycross Zoo (Monday 13th February to Friday 17th February + Monday 20th Feb to Friday 24th Feb)
If your children are animal lovers then a trip to Twycross Zoo is a must! Their Zoo club is holding a range of activities during the week such as arts and crafts, making toys for their animals, giving health checks to some of their friendlier animals, and/or cryptic trails around the zoo! The club is suitable for those aged between 8 and 14. The cost would be £85 per person per week, or £20 per person per day. Children would need to arrive at Zoo Club by 9am and pick up is at 4.30pm. Half term in the farmyard & adventure playground @ Chatsworth House (Saturday 11th Feb to Sunday 26th Feb)
Get your children into the great outdoors this Feb half term with a trip to Chatsworth House farmyard and adventure playground. This year children can join in on the Wild West themed activities with a fun filled trailer ride. Be daring enough to handle the spiders and snakes, take a shot in Tin Can Alley and end the day by letting off steam in the adventure playground. Children will also have the opportunity to say hello to the animals in the farmyard. Prices start at £6 per person. A family ticket will be available for £22 per family (2 adults and up to 3 children).
Princess Half Term @ Twinlakes (Saturday 11th Feb to Sunday 26th Feb)
Your little one is sure to love this princess day out. There will be princess activities available throughout each day and we ensure your children will be thoroughly entertained as they twirl their way around the park. If your child dresses as a princess they will receive a free ticket to Wheelgate Park in Farnsfield. A superhero theme will also be available be available for those that don’t want to be a princess for the day. The park is full of indoor and outdoor areas, rides, slides, and Animal Farm Activities. Half Term Activities @ Conkers (Saturday 11th Feb to Sunday 26th Feb)
Conkers are putting on a jam packed half term this year with tonnes of shows, activities and crafts for you and your family to get stuck in to. Fairy themed craft activities will be available every day from 11am to 4pm. Different ranger activities will also be available each day from orienteering to pond dipping. How can I get any better we hear you cry? A range of shows will be put on throughout the weeks like circus workshops and an all new Punch and Judy show. Jump Giants @ Loughborough
Take your children to Jump Giants in Loughborough this half term for the ultimate trampolining experience. Gorse Hill City Farm @ Anstey Lane, Leicester
Enjoy the fun of the farm, rain or shine, with over 100 animals for you and your children to meet. The farm is equipped with play areas and a wildlife garden and pond. A large animal paddock is home to cows, ponies and donkeys but if you’re a fan of smaller animals there are rabbits, guinea pigs and so much more! Goldhill Adventure Playground @ Leicester (Sunday 12th February to Thursday 16th February)
