Young dancers from city and county will be starring in The Magic Lamp pantomime at De Montfort Hall later this month.
The youngsters from FTM Dance – a performing arts respite service for people who have additional needs, disabilities or specific medical conditions – are hoping to mirror the success of 2018’s Peter Pan show.
Leanne Evans, director of FTM Dance, said: “We had such a wonderful time last year performing our first pantomime at De Montfort Hall, and this year’s performance promises to be even more exciting. The young people are looking forward to the performance, and we would encourage everyone to take part by coming along and showing your support.”
Using scenery created for Imagine Theatre’s seasonal run of Aladdin, FTM Dance will perform the panto on Friday 20 December at 6pm. Run as a relaxed performance, both on and off stage, FTM Dance will entirely present and star in the production of The Magic Lamp.
The FTM cast will also invite the audience to ‘Make a friend like me’ as they help Aladdin discover the lamp and magic carpet in hidden treasure at De Montfort Hall.
Antony Flint, De Montfort Hall’s general manager, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for us, Imagine Theatre and De Montfort Hall, to engage with and support the great work of FTM Dance. We are delighted to be working with them again and very much looking forward to welcoming them back to the hall.”
Ticket prices £10 adults, £5 children, carers go free.
