BEAUTY SOS! POST-LOCKDOWN BEAUTY TREATMENT MUST-HAVES

It’s been a long lockdown, and our social calendars have never looked busier – roll on meals out with friends, post-work drinks, and picnics in the park, but the priority for us? Getting our beauty appointments booked in.

We asked Beauty Manager at Harvey Nichols Birmingham, Helen Gough, for her post-lockdown beauty treatment must-haves.

Haircare

If there’s one thing I really can’t wait for, it’s to say goodbye to my split ends and roots. First on my list of treatments will definitely be a complete overhaul with James Bushell Hair. I trust Lucy, salon manager of James Bushell at Harvey Nichols Birmingham, implicitly with my colour as she uses Olaplex colour and treatments. Unleashing a secret weapon to allow you to lighten your hair without damage from bleach based products, Olaplex works by reconnecting the disulphide sulphur bonds that get broken in the process of hair colouring and lightening, therefore leaving you with stronger, healthier looking hair and a longer-lasting colour.

Nails

Gone are the days of DIY gel polish kits at home, and the awful task of soaking off (or in some cases peeling off eek) our polish. Luckily for us, the team at Shavata Studios are back and offering clients Instagram-ready manicures that are second to none. We’re counting down the days until we can have the Ultimate Luxury Pedicure which includes a file, soak, push cuticle back, nip & buff, exfoliate, masque, half leg massage & paint.

Brows

Hailed the ‘Brow Queen’ by the likes of Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan, Shavata Singh has revolutionised the beauty industry with her unique and natural approach to eyebrow grooming. Using the ancient Asian art of threading, Shavata expertly accentuates the face structure and enhances the natural beauty of each client. Shavata brings her trusted expertise to Shavata Studios, where she trains her team personally to ensure each client is treated with the same insight, discretion and luxury. Our must-have treatment? Brow lamination – accentuate those grown-out lockdown brows and opt for the natural look.

Skincare

Deborah Mitchell is the master of non-surgical skincare. Her treatments – including her famed bee-venom facial – have earned her such a following that she now has a two-year waiting list.

But not anymore. Now you can enjoy treatments from the skincare guru at Harvey Nichols, Birmingham. Our favourite has to be the brand new vegan must-have, Nettle Venom Serum.

The serum contains patented NETTATOXIN® that works in a similar way to the sought-after ABEETOXIN® but rather than using the venom from bees Heaven Skincare has harnessed the sting of the common British nettle. The serum contains the active venom, which works to tighten skin for an anti-ageing affect. Added to this, the nettle’s leaves and roots provide a whole host of nutrients, including vitamins A, C and K as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium – all of which are amazing for the complexion.

Body

Every ESPA treatment is tailored to you, to include a bespoke selection of products, aromatherapeutic oils and techniques to best meet your own skincare and wellbeing requirements, and the Salt and Oil Scrub is essential for summer prep. This exceptional skin softening body exfoliation combines sea salts with essential oils to leave your skin nourished, smooth and supple. Perfect as a stand-alone treatment, or in preparation for an ESPA Massage, it will work wonders to get your body ready for that new summer wardrobe.
