Should I work whilst travelling?

Working while travelling can be a great idea if you don’t have enough money to see you through your whole journey. If your financial situation is going to mean cutting your dream trip short, then it’s a good idea to work while you’re out there.

How can I make money while travelling?

If you’ve decided that working while you travel is right for you, the good news is that there are several ways you can make money on the move. Some ways include:

  1. Teaching a language

One of the easiest jobs for English speakers is getting a job teaching a language. Teaching jobs are in demand around the world, so you’ll likely walk into a job with ease. As well as flexible hours and good pay, many teaching jobs offer excellent bonuses too.

2. Work in a restaurant or bar

There will always be a need for restaurant and bar staff! Bars and restaurants at party destinations near hostels are the best places to start as they have a high staff turnover and are almost always looking to hire. If you can bear the unsociable hours, working in this environment can be genuine fun.

3. Do some online work

If you’re looking for a flexible job that you can do from your hotel room, one great way to make money is through online activities such as spread betting. By learning how to speculate on financial markets (such as the Forex market), you can earn some quick cash to tide you over.
