With great excitement, our mini reporter, Orla, visited the Belgrade Theatre for the first time to watch children’s favourite ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’.
We entered the beautiful Belgrade Theatre and were amazed at its light and airy feel and super friendly staff. Orla wanted to try the food in the café and again the staff were lovely and helpful with the food at very reasonable prices.
Adapted for the stage from the modern classic written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, director Sally Cookson has achieved a huge success.
We joined in the bear hunt through the swishy long grass, the splashy river, the squelchy mud, the snow storm and into the dark cave where the bear was waiting for us all.
All of the children in the theatre were engaged and joined in as well as most of the adults. There were surprises in store for everyone and plenty of sing along adventure which had us all dancing in our seats by the end.
Orla loved every minute of it and said that it had too many best bits it was too difficult to just choose one, but as well as loving the doggie and the baby, her overall favourite thing was of course the bear.
A brilliant cast in a beautiful venue, what more could you ask of for a theatre trip with the little ones.
