What better way to celebrate the summer than with this uplifting concert of classics?
Raymond Gubbay present their much loved Last Night of the Summer Proms concert on 30 June at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham.
The diverse programme includes marches, waltzes, arias and choruses, with much loved pieces such as Rossini’s The Barber of Seville Overture, Verdi’s Brindisi from La traviata, Suppe’s Light Cavalry Overture and Puccini’s O Soave Fanciulla from La bohème.
No Last Night of the Summer Proms celebration would be complete without a finale of traditional Proms favourites, from Nessun Dorma, to Rule, Britannia! and of course, Land of Hope and Glory. Audience participation and flag waving is most definitely encouraged and everyone in the audience will enjoy a free glass of Summer Pimms!
Hilary Davan Wetton will be leading proceedings conducting the London Concert Orchestra. He will be joined by the acclaimed soprano Anna Patalong and the tenor Nicky Spence.
