Not to mention, this region is just a short 90 minutes from London and easy to access via trains to Gloucester. If you’re looking for the next location to explore on a romantic break with your partner, browse this short guide and discover why The Cotswolds might just be the perfect place.
Picturesque Walks
Escape everyday life and find some peace and quiet with your other half on a picturesque country walk – be it a village-to-village amble or a challenging circular loop! For a glorious overview of one of the most beloved regions in the country, try hiking a section of the Cotswold Way. This route covers 100 miles from Bath to the town of Chipping Campden and includes stunning panoramas and pre-historic landmarks. Walking the trail in full will take you between seven to 10 days and passes through many picture-perfect villages with quaint tea shops and, of course, lots of pubs!
Stately Heritage
Turn your romantic break into a fairy tale by visiting the many beautiful stately homes in the Cotswolds. Our favourites include: Sudeley Castle, a 12th-century castle in the historic market town of Winchcombe; Blenheim Palace, a country house in Woodstock over 300 years old, or Cirencester Park which over the years has moonlighted as a deer park, a military base, a hospital, and the venue for a Glenn Miller concert!
Spa Pampering
A great way to kick back and relax on a romantic break in The Cotswolds is by going to the spa. Bath is infamous for its hot springs and is home to some of the best-preserved Roman Spas from the ancient world. After you’ve admired its impressive architecture and engineering, head to the Thermae Spa to bathe in the mineral-rich waters just like the Romans and Celts did over 2,000 years ago!
Wine & Dine
There is not much that is more romantic than destination dining with your loved one. It could be a romantic picnic at Berrybank Park Amphitheatre, an unforgettable brewery tour around a distillery and cask warehouse or a relaxed meal at one of the many pubs sprinkled around The Cotswolds for a cosy evening that never seems to end. For a more indulgent experience, choose from the collection of Michelin-star restaurants in this area.
There are not many places as perfect for a romantic break as The Cotswolds. And with breathtaking walks, magical scenery, a chance to get pampered at the spa, and even more opportunities to be wined and dined, you will be spoilt for choice on your visit here with your other half.
