This week’s newsletter is brought to you by the female contingent of FU Media, as our lovely bosses Kevin and Jon are taking some much-deserved time off!

I don’t know about you, but with September just around the corner and the majority of 2020 being a bit of a write-off thanks to Corona, the “Back to School” season seems even more poignant this year. It’s a chance for a fresh start and for things to (hopefully) start looking a little more ‘normal’ again.

Who remembers the excitement of new stationery, a clean, crisp uniform and shiny new shoes? Playground adventures, making lifelong friends, learning and creating – these are all things that evoke fond memories which have carried us through to adulthood.

If these last few months have taught us anything, it’s that the little things count and that life is too short. So, dig out your favourite notebook, treat yourself to a new pair of shoes and get ready to take on the last few months of 2020 with all the aplomb of a five-year-old on their first day of school!

Be happy, be safe and make every second count.

Until next time…

Rebecca, Francesca & Scarlett

USE IT, PLANT IT, WATCH IT GROW

We’re amazed by the world’s first and only patented plantable pencil that grows into vegetables, flowers and herbs when you’ve finished using it.

Instead of throwing them out when they become too small to use, just plant the Sprout Pencils into soil, and water – the capsule cleverly dissolves and will sprout into anything from cherry tomato plants, sage and basil, to carnations and sunflowers.

THE EVOLUTION OF CYCLING POST LOCK-DOWN

Wherever you go, you can see it; cycling has enjoyed a massive resurgence and become more popular than ever during the last few months.

People have dusted off old bikes to take their daily exercise, families are out cycling together, and friends are going for socially-distanced bike rides.

Now, with more people returning to work, increasing numbers of people are planning to commute by bike. This is great for those who want to avoid public transport and also means using the car less, saving both money and pollution.

But where will the resurgence of cycling take us next? Catherine Bedford from Dashel tells us more here.
