First acts for BBC Music Introducing East Midlands have been announced

The first wave of acts for BBC Music Introducing East Midlands have been announced.

Demons of Ruby Mae, Judith Ude, Mason Bailey, Oceans Apart, Ro Jordan and Harri Georgio will all perform at De Montfort Hall.

Curated by the BBC’s new music initiative, the artists all have a Leicester and Leicestershire connection.

Jonny Gavin and Adam Rowley, of Demons of Ruby Mae, had their song Beneath The Surface feature in hit American TV show Suits.

Harri Georgio has recently released his first reggae-styled single Realness, while Judith Ude is a singer and harpist, who fuses classical music and gospel.

Mason Bailey, who toured as support act for Peter Andre, is working on a debut EP, while Oceans Apart are an alternative rock band featuring three brothers and two friends.

And finally, there’s soulful pop singer and musician Ro Jordan, who releases her second single on 9 August.

BBC Introducing will take place on the bank holiday of Saturday 24 August and form part of De Montfort Hall’s Gigs In The Gardens summer series.

Gigs In The Gardens features seven events in the hall gardens throughout August. The series concludes with a spectacular firework display and a family friendly concert of film and stage classics performed by the Bardi Symphony Orchestra on Monday 26 August.

Tickets are available from www.demontforthall.co.uk
