Gucci’s The Alchemist Garden

Gucci Fragrances opens a new story of magic and imagination with the launch of its Luxury Collection: The Alchemist’s Garden. Available now from Harvey Nichols Birmingham, the new range of seven eau de parfums, four oils and three acque profumates takes its inspiration from the science of alchemy.

Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele worked closely with master perfumer Alberto Morillas using pure, natural plants and flowers; a hero ingredient is magnified for each scent – oud, amber, violet, iris, mimosa, rose and woods. Each works beautifully on its own or can be layered to create an individual, statement fragrance. The highly concentrated oils can then be used to intensify the strength and richness of each eau de parfum.

“The oils and acque profumate create individual statements. Personalise your beloved scent with an oil or a floral water to build a unique sillage. Each oil or floral water of the collection can be layered with each eau de parfum. Just play with the scent to find your favourite, as an alchemist would work to find the gold formula,”

– Alberto Morillas

The design of the bottles is just as beautiful as the scents – from the lacquered glass to the delicate gold lettering – and echo vintage apothecary and pharmacy jars and the first perfumery containers.

Gucci’s The Alchemist Garden is available from Harvey Nichols, The Mailbox. Eau De Parfums (100ml), £240; Acque Profumate (150ml), £180; Perfumed Oil (20ml), £295.
