Frontline staff at Worcestershire’s Acute NHS Trust are being treated to some much-needed TLC as a thank you for their work throughout the pandemic. Over the last 12 months the hospital’s Ophthalmology department has not only provided face to face care for its own patients, but has also stepped in to support ICU and Covid wards.
As a reward for their dedication, Consultant Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive & Cosmetic Surgeon Dr Julia Sen has gifted each member of her team a luxury facial, allowing them to take a break from their duties and enjoy some well-earned “me” time.
Dr Sen, who is also Director of the Midlands Aesthetic Clinic at BHI Parkside in Bromsgrove, came up with the idea for Superfacials for Superheroes after noticing so many of her colleagues prioritised looking after their patients above looking after themselves. The scheme is supported by leading cosmeceutical brand iS Clinical and aesthetic technology company Profacial and offers hard-working staff a complimentary Profacial SuperCleanse Facial using the latest Aquapeel technology to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate and nourish skin.
“I have always felt fortunate to work within a highly skilled, dedicated and caring team in the Ophthalmology Department at the Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust. Over the last year they have surpassed all expectations in not only continuing to provide care for patients with potentially blinding conditions, but they have also supported departments during the worst periods of the pandemic facing viral exposure, working in new environments and unfamiliar shift patterns.
