An exciting new Birmingham seafood boil restaurant called Seafood City in the Arcadian, will open its doors on 1st July.

It’s time for Birmingham to get down and dirty as the team behind the popular Vietnamese Street Kitchen have launched an exciting new seafood boil restaurant called Seafood City in the Arcadian.

Inspired by Louisiana’s traditional seafood boil, the cooking method has been adopted and enhanced by the Vietnamese community, creating a new sensation in London’s food scene and soon in the Midlands. The restaurants classic ‘City Boil’ includes 5 king prawns, 5 mussels, red potatoes, garlic bread, corn on the cob, and a choice of garlic butter, cajun, or hot and spicy sauce for £15.95.

Other dishes include the Signature Combo ‘Don’t Be Shellfish’ with lobster tail, 10 king prawns, 10 mussels, red potatoes, corn on the cob, and garlic bread for £39.90, perfect for two. ‘The Feast’ for four includes a snow crab cluster at £115 and the lobster roll includes fresh lobster in a buttery bun with mayo, lemon, salad, and fries for £21.95.

The restaurant will seat 99 people inside with a cocktail bar as the centrepiece, plus outdoor seating. Cocktail lovers will enjoy sipping on refreshing blends such as Lychee Coolers and Passionfruit Daiquiris as they don their aprons and get their claws into their seafood (£8.95 or two for £15). A selection of international lagers is on tap.

General Manager, Oliver Ngo said: “It’s all about diving right in, putting your bib aprons on and getting your hands messy so that you can enjoy seafood in an unpretentious way. The idea is to bring friends, families and seafood lovers together to enjoy the riches of the sea in the simplest way possible.

The brand concept and interior design by Faber are an explosion of neon colours and bright lights, as bold as the menu itself. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Asian cities, the designers coined the term ‘retro-futurism’, featuring a bold and colourful identity influenced by Japanese typography.

The team at Seafood City have been working hard to create memorable experiences and capturing the best of the sea from lobsters, crab, shrimps, oysters, mussels, clams and crawfish. It’s the perfect treasure hunt for seafood lovers!
