The highly anticipated new Indian restaurant Varanasi promises to be the most decadent dining experience in Leicestershire, bringing a combination of opulent surroundings, private dining and authentic Indian cuisine.
As soon as you walk in you will be transformed into a space that feels far from the High Street outside. Guests will enter via a grand, dimly lit, ‘tunnel-like’ entrance lined with large statues, flickering candles and impressive chandeliers.
The highly ‘Instagrammable’ restaurant brand, already famous in Birmingham for hosting many high-profile celebrities including Johnny Depp, is sure to give guests an unparalleled Indian Dining experience they will never forget.
Depp was reported to have said, “It was the best curry he’s ever had!”
The restaurant will serve both North and South inspired Indian food, expertly crafted by some of the industry’s leading chefs. Menu items include Kasturi Chicken Tikka with Caramalised Pineapple Chutney, Tandoori Wild King Prawn with Spicy Beetroot Ketchup, but also features their famous curry bowls and Biryani Dishes. Dessert options include a Tiramisu Torte with Mango Drizzle, and Coconut Pannacotta. Vegan and Vegetarian menu items are also available.
Diners can also relax in their elegant Cocktail Bar where you’ll find beautiful candle-lit lanterns and a specially designed waterfall. The menu features unique cocktails & mocktails such as Coconut Passion, Mango Mule, Rose Petal Martini and an Indian Spiced Mai Tai, alongside all the classics.
The capacity of the restaurant is vast with seats for 160 guests. This includes two stunning private dining rooms located at the rear of the restaurant where diners can enjoy their own exclusive area. The flexibility of the space makes it perfect for all types of occasions from intimate date nights to large celebrations.
Varanasi, named after the Indian city, will be opening its doors and the full menu will be available on 16 February. Lunch service on a Saturday and Sunday will also commence shortly. The restaurant is located at 87-91 High Street, LE1 4JB.
