2Funky Arts will conclude their 4-month artist development programme – Project LIVE – with a VIP Industry Showcase event on the: 10th July, 7pm, 2Funky Music Café
This summer showcase will feature an exciting line-up of new, emerging artists from Leicester(shire). They will perform original material across Black music genres, alongside a live band, to an audience including music professionals.
Led by Musical Director Lisa Millett, artists have been working extremely hard to prepare for this moment, collaborating with a live band at weekly rehearsal sessions to create live renditions of music, featuring an array of instruments.
Exceptional live performances are to be expected, in a variety of Black music genres from artists:
Dani Matty, Rai, Jake Thompson, Linzi, Sariah, Sam Harris, Manye Fi & Sunsun Official.

ROUND 2 OF PROJECT LIVE APPLICATIONS
Emerging artists from Leicester/Leicestershire are encouraged to apply for the next round of 2Funky Arts’ artist development programme Project LIVE. This is a FREE 4-month artist development project, hosted at 2Funky Music Café, working in Black music styles such as hip hop, soul, grime, jazz, funk, reggae and Afrobeat.
The opportunity is open to singers and rappers aged 18+, and will run for 4 months, giving artists mentoring support, performance experience, radio exposure, collaboration opportunities, studio time, music masterclasses and more. The most promising artists will be paid for external performances (past have included Leicester Riverside Festival & Abbey Park Bonfire Night).
The programme runs from September to December, with 8 places.
We particularly encourage artists from ethnic minority backgrounds to apply.
