Unbelievably, the festive season is almost upon us again and with that comes the usual flurry of parties, present buying, food prepping and visiting your loved ones. As lovely as that all is, it doesn’t tend to leave much time for you…

Nottinghamshire’s best Day Spa, the award-winning Eden Hall, has the perfect solution to this dilemma with its Festive Spa Experiences. We were lucky enough to be invited to review the Festive Serenity Spa Day and left floating on a cloud!

A LUXURIOUS ARRIVAL

We arrived at Eden Hall early on a gloomy Sunday morning and our first thought was how easy it was to get to and find. Situated less than a minute from the A46, it’s in a great location surrounded by beautiful countryside, with plenty of free parking spaces. There were quite a few others arriving at the same time as us but check in was incredibly well organised and slick. We were greeted with a welcome drink, which added to the instant feeling of calm as you entered the building (along with the most amazing smell!)

THE SPA

Eden Hall’s luxury spa facilities provide head-to-toe relaxation for body and mind – from the 25 metre vitality swimming pool and outdoor hot tubs, to the thermal spa suite and slumber lounge – there’s something for everyone. There were plenty of comfy loungers around the pool area, where we wiled away a couple of hours reading our books. The conservatory was also a favourite relaxation spot, where we enjoyed the views of the gardens whilst sipping on hot chocolates, wrapped in fluffy blankets.

THE TREATMENT

There’s a 60-minute Ultimate Full Body Sleepy Experience included within the Festive Serenity Day package, which was heavenly. You’re invited to “float away to inner peace” whilst being treated to a foot and back massage, nourishing facial and relaxing neck and scalp massage, all whilst lying on a heated bed. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave!

THE FOOD

All this relaxation builds up an appetite, so the included three-course lunch at the spa restaurant, Taste of Eden, was a welcome treat. We both started with the Goats Cheese, Beetroot & Mushroom Salad – a delicious combination of flavours that set the tone for the remaining two courses. For mains, I chose the Chicken Katsu Curry with Rice & Vegetables – the chicken was juicy with a crispy crumb, the katsu sauce was flavoursome and the vegetables perfectly cooked. My friend chose the Pork Belly with Summer Vegetables, which she said was very tasty, well cooked and had a good mix of vegetables. For dessert, we had the Strawberry & Mascarpone Mille Feuille and Chocolate Orange Cheesecake, respectively. Both were the perfect finishers to a delicious lunch.

A PERFECT FESTIVE TREAT

If you’re looking for somewhere to escape the festive frenzy this year, look no further than Nottinghamshire’s best day spa. Leave all your stresses and worries behind as you step over the threshold and enjoy being pampered. We enjoyed our time at Eden Hall so much, that we’re already planning another trip there in between Christmas and New Year!
