Opening this week at Wollaton Park, the Open-Air Theatre season returns with a full programme of new and traditional performances:
Thursday 15 June – Romeo & Juliet
With a history stretching back to William Shakespeare himself, The Lord Chamberlain’s Men present this great play as he first saw it – in the open air, with an all-male cast and Elizabethan costumes.
Friday 23 June – MacHamLear
Heartbreak Productions pits Macbeth, Hamlet and King Lear against each other in this farcical piece of new writing.
Thursday 13 July – The Importance of Being Earnest
Chapterhouse Theatre Company is proud to present Oscar Wilde’s finest and best-loved romantic comedy, with a cast of unforgettably larger than life characters.
Friday 4 August – The Secret Garden
Join young Mary Lennox on a journey of discovery as she is sent to her uncle’s house in the countryside, where mysteries and secrets lurk round every corner.
Sunday 6 August – David Walliams’ Bad Dad
Driven to desperate measures in order to provide for his son Frank, Gilbert agrees to become a get-away driver for the local baddies.
Thursday 17 August – Robin Hood
Featuring tales of camaraderie, good against evil, swashbuckling action and riotous comedy, Robin Hood is a fast-moving, fun-packed family show.
